Workshop Overview

These workshops celebrate the wisdom and lived experiences passed down through generations. Whether you’re gathering with family or the wider community, each session invites you to engage with stories that honour the beauty of migration, community, and tradition.

This project invites you to engage in intimate conversations that explore personal histories, embodied experiences, and the importance of oral storytelling in preserving cultural identity.

Family Gatherings
These workshops are tailored for families and children. They are structured, with guided exploration of personal narratives and creative activities led by Nabiséré Nicole.

Community Gatherings
You’ll have the opportunity to interact with the artist in an informal setting, making these sessions perfect for anyone looking to explore style and identity through a community-focused lens.

Join the Conversation
Throughout the weekend, you’ll be invited to reflect on key questions like:

  • What stories do your clothes carry?
  • How does migration, community, and tradition shape your self-expression?
  • What impact has the environment had on how you express yourself through style

Optional Oral History Recordings
You will have the opportunity to book time slots to record personal stories, creating an ongoing legacy of shared experiences. These recordings will contribute to a living archive, celebrating the rich stories that shape our cultural identities.

Food & Drink
A selection of food and beverages will be available at all gatherings.

How to Participate

This event is free, but pre-registration is required. You can sign up for multiple gatherings across the weekend, as each session is separate, offering unique opportunities for exploration and connection.
