Peckham Platform is thrilled to present you Sites of Play, a free workshop guided by artists Birungi Kawooya and Lesley Asare at Staffordshire St, an independent project space in Peckham. The workshop is for people aged over 16 years old and aims to promote a safe space for play, self-discovery, as well as individual and collective empowerment. The participants will create a large collective mural using a variety of materials and African print fabrics, as a way to find their own creative expression.
Book your place here.
The workshop is part of the Festival of Community taking place across two weekends in August, to celebrate creativity, diversity, and community spirit.
What can you expect from Sites of Play?
A workshop led by artists Birungi Kawooya and Lesley Asare invites you to explore Community, Play and Rest. Through gentle movement, the participants will create a large collective mural using a variety of materials and African print fabrics. Held by a reflective soundscape, we will also explore the wisdom within our breath and bodies through gentle movement and will explore what Community, Play and Rest look like to us.
Due to limited capacity, we recommend you secure your access as soon as possible.
