Artist Talk: Kathrin Böhm, Money Making Machines and Other Useful Contraptions

Resources

In 2014 artist Kathrin Böhm took part in a conversation with David Boyle from the New Economics Foundation and CEO and Founder of CoolTan Arts Michelle Baharier. Money Distribution Machine and Other Useful Contraptions was a commission for Peckham Platform that invited audiences to explore an exhibition made up of a range of desirable life appliances including coin pressing, voucher printing, plate spinning, chocolate pressing and seed bomb making.

In this round table discussion on ‘money distribution’ Böhm explores the suggestive title of the exhibition and addresses the more general issues of distribution of wealth, community economies, local currencies and the economics of mental health.
