Marc Bauer’s project for Frieze Art Fair was the result of an interactive research process.
Marc Bauer ran a series of workshops with Peckham Platform’s Youth Platform, during which he questioned the meaning and role of masculinity, femininity, (gender) identity and stereotypes in our contemporary society.
The discussions with the participants at the workshops served as inspiration for Bauer’s installation at Frieze, a selection of drawings and film references focusing on how historical narratives and collective and individual memory relate to stereotypes, power and ideological systems.
