In 2025 – 2026 we ran sessions to record your oral histories with a facilitator, where we dived into the richness of your lived experiences and personal reflections. Together, we explored the threads that weave our community:
Cuisine. Migration. Identity. Style. Faith. Architecture.
These stories are a legacy of south London women, past and present, rooted in place and possibility. This was more than a conversation. It was a celebration, an honouring, and a reclaiming of space.
Memories for the Future was made possible with funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund, United St Saviours and the London Borough of Southwark’s Culture Together, Neighbourhoods and Cultural Celebrations funds and generous support from Arts Council England. Memories for the Future runs from June 2024 through to March 2026.
